Tuttosport: Milan open talks with agency of midfielder as Man Utd exit seems likely

AC Milan are in the market for a player who can act as a shield in front of the back four for next season and they have opened talks over Sofyan Amrabat, a report claims.

This morning’s edition of Tuttosport (via PianetaMilan) reports that Milan have started the first contacts for Amrabat, a player that has been repeatedly linked in the past.

During the 2023 summer transfer window he left Fiorentina on a €10m paid loan to Manchester United, who have the option to make the deal permanent for an extra €20m.

Due to United’s difficulties this season and the fact he has not really hit the ground running, the strong feeling is that Amrabat will return to La Viola at the end of the season when his loan is up.

His contract expires in 2025 though, and his agents will thus work on finding him a new club. The Milan management would appreciate Amrabat and would have already tested the waters with his new representatives, namely the Dutch agency SEG who also represent Tijjani Reijnders.

In recent days, a delegation from SEG was in Milan and spoke about Amrabat with Milan. Fiorentina could settle for a figure of around €15-18m to give the green light to a sale in the next transfer window, while the player wants a four-year deal.
