AC Milan were not at their free-flowing best against Lecce on Sunday evening but Rafael Leao’s brace was enough to earn an important three points.
This morning’s edition of Tuttosport (as seen below) has their player ratings from the game, starting with Mike Maignan who didn’t have much to do but got a 6. Pierre Kalulu struggled a bit positionally and got a 5.5, with Malick Thiaw receiving a 6.
Fikayo Tomori and Theo Hernandez were the best from the back four as they each got given a 6.5, while Sandro Tonali got the same score for another good performance in midfield. His partner Rade Krunic got half a mark less.
Moving into the attack, Junior Messias never really got into the game and was awarded a 5 (his replacement Alexis Saelemaekers got a 6), while Brahim Diaz got a 5.5 and Rafael Leao received an 8.
Perhaps the biggest disappointing came from Ante Rebic who scored a 4.5 as he – like Messias – just never looked up to speed. Simon Kjaer and Ismael Bennacer each got a 6 for their substitute appearances, and Stefano Pioli got a 6.5.
