Tuttosport: Milan player ratings for Lazio draw – seven players get below 6

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan’s draw against Lazio at the Stadio Olimpico last night was a real up and down encounter, and this is reflected in the player ratings from the game.

This morning’s edition of Tuttosport (via MilanNews) has their ratings from the game, starting with the coach Paulo Fonseca who was given a 5.5 out of 10: “The excluded big players get the bar back on its feet. Management that leaves one perplexed, too many gestures signal an evident discomfort.”

The worst player on the field was Fikayo Tomori (5): “He is attracted by the ball and Lazio slip away centrally, he suffers too much from the runs in behind from the two opposing attackers.”

His friend Tammy Abraham (6.5) did much better off the bench: “Precious in attracting Romagnoli’s marking and opening up the space for the 2-2.” The best was Rafael Leao who came on and scored (7): “It took him a minute and a half to surf to the goal and respond to the sensational exclusion.”

In addition to Tomori, many players struggled. Noah Okafor (5) barely got into the game, while a 5.5 went to Emerson Royal, Tijjani Reijnders, Youssouf Fofana, Samuel Chukwueze and Ruben Loftus-Cheek.

Among the rest, nobody stands out but there was a note of merit for Christian Pulisic (6) who provided the assist for Strahinja Pavlovic’s goal (he also got a 6).

  1. If we play like this against inter we will concede 6 goals. Watching this Milan is just pain!

For me Calabria should be the starter and if Jovic leaves try get Hummels as soon as possible.

Bennacer should start next game next to Fofana and Reijnders should be move to AM. Only positive was maybe Abraham he can maybe be a good asset for this team

    1. Because the media were all so excited about his arrival.

It’s like with Calabria. He consistently puts in solid performances but gets lower ratings because the narrative is Milan need a new RB.

      1. There’s nothing solid about Calabria otherwise they wouldn’t have been looking to upgrade on him (which to be fair, they didn’t). In fact he has been so solid, he didn’t even start.

As for Pavlo, even for the mistakes he’s made, he’s still the brightest spot in defense so far. Preventing goals and even scoring one. Excitement or not, he has been an upgrade to the alternative of Thiaw.

  2. Royal 5.5, Okafor 5, seems legit🤡🤡🤡.
Emerson Royal OUT…I don’t know why we bought him in the first place. I don’t say that he is the only one to blame for our results, but men his is bad.

  3. For me the Okafors rating is not fair. He played as good as possible given those bad passes he got from his teammates. It is normal that he cant perform better when every player besides him stays far away from the opponents goal.

  4. The lack of “understanding” throughout the team is evident . The team is so unsettled and it shows . Injuries and lack of effort has created a lack of continuity (time together in games and training) and is a real issue . It’s hard to tell what we have . Pulisic is the only attacking player the tracks back consistently . His work rate should give him a 6.5 for every game . We need all three forwards pressing and tracking back .
