Tuttosport: Milan plot attacking overhaul with Thuram plus two right wingers

AC Milan are now looking to reinvest the proceeds they will get from Sandro Tonali’s imminent sale and the attack will get some particular focus.

As Tuttosport writes this morning (via MilanNews), Marcus Thuram is close to joining Milan after he rejected PSG, who offered better economic terms but then hesitated too much and didn’t give enough certainties regarding his role during their pitch.

Milan remain in pole position and are offering the striker €6m net per season, which would make him the highest paid member of the squad along with Rafael Leao.

The definitive green light is awaited and at that point the Rossoneri will be able to say that they have completed their centre-forward department with Olivier Giroud and Lorenzo Colombo.

Meanwhile, the right wing also needs some attention. Samuel Chukwueze and Christian Pulisic are the favoured targets, but Villarreal have set a high asking price for the former who would also take up a non-EU spot.

The other names being considered are Ismaila Sarr of Watford, Reiss Nelson of Arsenal and Jeremy Doku of Stade Rennais. Meanwhile, the track that leads to Luka Romero also remains very much alive.

Alexis Saelemaekers and Junior Messias could both leave Milanello if two players arrive. Arda Guler is somewhat outside of these discussions though, because even though his €17.5m clause is not a problem, the demand for commissions and the competition very much is.

  1. Shame that Bennacer is injured, he’d be ideal to sell to finance this attacking overhaul.

But if not him, maybe we’ll be able to sell Pobega or Krunić. I hope it’s Pobega since he’s Italian and we have way too many of them in the squad. Krunic can go too to be honest, as using midfielders is an outdated concept.

So yeah, let’s break club’s transfer record by paying 40 mln for nonEU, unproven Chukuweze, throw another 30+ at Pulisic, who’s one of the flops of the century and doesn’t want to lower his contract.

Also, given the role and tasks that Pioli designates for the RW, these two would be ideal, as Pioli expects intense pressing, one on one marking, and good tackling from his right wingers (as can be often seen with how Saelemaekers or Messias played, doubling Calabria or Krunic in defence).

Spending more money than we actually have for mercato for TWO right wingers sounds like fantastic and completely viable idea, this way they can both play together on the right wing, compensating for the lack of ANY midfielders and revolutionize football. And if things get tough on the pitch, we can always add two more right wingers on the pitch (maybe by removing the defenders) and totally dominate the right side of the pitch with the mighty Chukuweze-Pulisic-Messias-Alexis quartet. They’d call our right wing NSDAP, as it would be very brutal.

  2. We could fundraise another 100 mill probably if we could sell Cardinale to Afghanistan so he can teach them how to play baseball, how to pitch, homeruns base slide and then we could buy some talented players from Indonesia cheap for twenty five dollars a player
