Tuttosport: Milan put pressure on Origi who wants return to England

Divock Origi has made it clear that he wants a return to the Premier League above all else, but AC Milan have reportedly put pressure on him.

According to Tuttosport (via SempreMilan.it), the Origi situation risks descending into a saga as the Belgian forward is continuing to refuse all offers (mostly from Turkey and Saudi Arabia) that do not come from the Premier League.

He wants to return to playing in England given his past at Liverpool but at the moment Milan have not received any concrete offers from the Premier League.

They will meet the player’s agents in the next few days to clarify his future because Origi still has a long contract with the Rossoneri (expiring in 2026) worth €4m net per season, which seems a high salary after a difficult.

Milan’s will is therefore to try to satisfy Origi with a move back to the Premier League but, if no suitable offers arrive, they will communicate to his entourage that he will not be part of their plans.

A stay at Milan in this context would represent a step backwards for Origi considering that he will not be used by Pioli next season.

  1. That was horrible signing. Wile mistakes can be made lets face it — this mistake is enough to suck any sporting director.

    1. I mean, it made sense on paper to Maldini at the time. As did CDK. Just didn’t work out like anyone though it would. It’s easy to judge in hindsight.

Closed chapter. Offload and move on.

  2. Terminate his contract not as easy as ppl here comment , you need to pay full salary or find agreement with him pay 70-80% his contract . All of signing last season except thiaw are disaster even that loan player flop like dest & aster. 4 signing last season : CDK ,origi , florenzi & junior ( both have activate buy option ) . We are lucky with that bad signing last season get 4th serie A ( with the help from juve point deduction ) . CDK & junior already out . Now big homework are origi since florenzi dont have suitor and we can only waiting florenzi contract expire

  3. They need to put pressure on him to leave and possibly take a salary cut. We are now finally getting other fringe players out of the team and now he has to leave.

  4. Our main hope is that PL clubs who have a bad start to the season (or get a few injuries to their starting strikers) swoop on the last day of the window.

However I could see Origi even then playing hardball, as he thinks he’s too good to join a lower/mid table team like Brentford or Bournemouth and we’re just stuck with him.

What a disaster of a signing. Injury prone, high salary, and ego making him unwilling to move. Truly another Bakayoko

  5. Almighty Real Madrid couldn’t get rid of Gareth Bale until he ran his contract out. Milan is disrespecting Divock Origi with this strong arm tactics. I don’t know if it’s management outright or Pioli, but it’s not a wise move.

Origi has never shown signs of being a trouble-maker, but now he is being pushed to the wall. He has a contract. This guy was among the first to arrive for preseason only to be axed for no reason. Yet, CdK and Messias who were not in Pioli’s plans and have been shipped out were taken on the US tour.

So what exactly was Origi’s sin for the disrespect? Was he worse than CdK last season?
