Tuttosport: Milan reach stalemate with Romagnoli and Raiola over new deal – the latest

By Oliver Fisher -

There have been no updates regarding the potential renewal of captain Alessio Romagnoli, according to a report, which could be indicative of his future.

It would be fair to describe it as a difficult period for Romagnoli, who came under fire following a bad patch of form and was dropped in favour of Fikayo Tomori for a crucial game against Roma, and has picked up a muscle problem which will keep him on the sidelines until after the international break.

According to what Tuttosport (via MilanNews) are reporting, there is no progress being made regarding Romagnoli’s contract, which will expire on 30 June 2022. The issue is in fact currently described as a ‘stalemate’ and in the coming months, the intentions of the club will be better understood, as well as obviously those of the defender.

A crossroads will be reached eventually either way, because Milan will either look to sell in order to avoid losing Romagnoli for free, or he will renew and remain.
