Tuttosport: Milan reignite interest in Atalanta playmaker as they eye Rossoneri midfielder

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are still interested in signing Atalanta playmaker Josip Ilicic and the Bergamo side are keen on signing Tommaso Pobega, a report claims.

Sky journalist Gianluca Di Marzio (via MilanNews) reported last night that the Primavera product Pobega is of concrete interest to Atalanta but there has not been an official offer made for him just yet from the Bergamo-based club. An asking price of €12m has been set, which would be pure capital gain for the Rossoneri.

According to today’s edition of Tuttosport (via MilanNews), Ilicic has ‘reappeared’ as a target for Milan and Atalanta have replied ‘give us Pobega’. After Hakan Calhanoglu’s decision to leave for Inter, Milan are in search of a playmaker and in the last hours the name of Ilicic is back in fashion.

Atalanta have in turn set histheirsights on Tommaso Pobega, the Milan midfielder who played last season on loan at Spezia, but there is no mention of a swap deal.

  1. I am starting to lose hope with Maldini and comp.Selling Pobega or giving im for a player that never was that good and is 34 years old!Hope Milan management dont do the same mistake has giving Pessina to Atalanta and Locatelli to Sassuolo!Pobega is really close to explode in lvl of performances!

    1. It would be a foolish move to sacrifice Pobega for Ilic. hope the don’t do it. I have every belief that Pobega can explode in the next 1-2 years.

  2. I agree with you aevarez last season he score more gols then saelemaekers, castillejo and kruinic all of them have played almost double the game that Pobega played and have the same goals like leao how played ten more games then im!

  3. If Atalanta desperately want Pobega it means they see a potential in him. Selling another talented youngster for nothing could be an another one mistake we’ve been doing for years.

  4. Well Maldini must see that Pobega have great potential but because of dumb pioli that refuses to change is tactic just so he can use the same players over and over that ends up on injurys on some players and not giving playing time to youngsters like Pobega,Hauge,Kalulu and others!

  5. I think we just have to show him the same kind of patience as we are doing with Tonali. Keep him for this season, let him play in the coppa italia and he could also be very important for squad depth in January when we will miss Kessie and Bennacer for the African tournament. Then we could have him rotate with Tonali and mr. x (hopefully Bakayoko or someone of similar class)

  6. I trust Atalanta’s eye for young talent more than Milan’s. If they like a player it means keep them. If Maldini must sell Pobega to raise funds for other moves then a buy back option must be part of the deal.

  7. Well we have buy back option on Pessina but atalanta arent willing to sell they are trying to get Pessina to hit 100 games with him then Milan cant buy for half the price that atalanta slap in Pessina if the put im on market any time soon!
