Tuttosport: Milan reignite interest in Wigan defender as Pioli seeks deputy for Theo

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan have reignited their interest in Wigan Athletic star Antonee Robinson ahead of the summer window, a report claims.

Robinson was close to signing for the Rossoneri in January. He even travelled to Milano on deadline day morning to complete a dream move, undergoing both his medical and physical checks before heading to the club’s Casa Milan headquarters.

However, rumours began to emerge suggesting the move had hit the rocks due to a heart problem detected, and Wigan then released a statement on their official website confirming that Robinson would be staying.

According to Tuttosport (via MilanLive), Milan are determined to sign a deputy to Theo Hernandez in the summer window, with Diego Laxalt and Ricardo Rodriguez seemingly destined for exits.

Robinson’s name has reappeared as a result as he has had an operation on his heart condition, and while in England there is talk of a future in the Premier League, it is not excluded that the Rossoneri could try again.

With the confirmation of Pioli and Paolo Maldini as technical director, the Robinson track could become serious again.
