AC Milan are monitoring several players on the market and as the takeover of the club is about to be completed, the mercato could unlock. Enzo Fernandez is one of the potential targets, a report claims.
At the age of 21, Fernandez has impressed many big clubs in the centre of River Plate’s midfield, finding the back of the net eight times this past season (plus six assists). According to Tuttosport (via MilanNews), Milan are interested.
Fernandez has an €18m release clause in his contract and the Rossoneri certainly have the money to pay it. However, a lot will most likely depend on the soon-to-be new owners of the club, RedBird capital.
Yesterday, Calciomercato.com reported that Milan have Renato Sanches as their primary target and will only make a move for Fernandez if the deal for the Portuguese international breaks down. It remains to be seen if further confirmation will arrive in the coming days.
