Tuttosport: Milan face roadblock as PSG and Spurs demand mandatory clause

By Isak Möller -

AC Milan are looking to bolster their squad with a centre-back this summer and talks are underway with a few clubs. The Rossoneri keep facing the same problem, though, and that is the formula.

It’s widely known that the Rossoneri intend to spend as little as possible after paying €35m for Charles De Ketelaere. A loan deal for the defence is thus what they are aiming for, which isn’t always easy to achieve.

According to Tuttosport (via MilanNews), Milan are in talks with PSG over Abdou Diallo and Tottenham over Japhet Tanganga. A loan seems possible for both but the Rossoneri have not been able to convince either club to accept a loan with an option to buy.

PSG and Spurs are adamant that it must be an obligation to buy instead, which not only locks in the payment but also registers it in the current fiscal year. Milan are thus facing a roadblock in their centre-back pursuit and it remains to be seen what the outcome will be.

    1. How? He’s in the last year of his deal so there is no loan to be had and ownership isn’t giving M&M 15-20M to get him. Do your homework 🤡🤡🤡🤡

        1. Well we will see donkey. However, Just like you were wrong on CDK for less than 35M you will be wrong here if you think ownership will give M&M 15-20M to sign N’Dicka when we also need another mid lol. Ask that donkey @Yelnats24 how much $$ we have left to spend – he will tell you.

      1. Last year Bakayoko was also in his last year contract at Chelsea yet Milan was able to loan him as the player agree to extension.

  1. I wouldn’t loan out Gabbia to get Diallo or Tanganga, tbh….well, at least Renato is going straight to bench already cause PSG are about to sign Fabian from Napoli, and I don’t see Renato benching Verrati, Vitinha or Fabian; hope he likes sitting on dat bench 😹

  2. If Milan wants to spend as little as posible then keep Gabia as a 4th choice CB. Not good for him since he needs regular playing time to develop further. Or let Gabia to go on Loan and sing some free CB or Grilish who is DM but can also play CB if needed. Other option is Ndicka for 20mil or Milenkovic for 15mil, both on expiring contracts. For me best option is to prob go with Grilish and then next year swoop either Ndicka or Milenkovic for free, since they dont want to sing extensions with their current clubs, at least one of them should still be avaliable next year.

  3. Go get Ethan Ampadu – young, experienced, cheap, was a standout performer for Venezia last year, plays midfield or centre-back, familiar with Italy, international experience and not in Chelsea’s squad.
