Tuttosport: Milan register interest in Salernitana defender during Adli discussions

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are looking for a more reliable deputy left-back and Pasquale Mazzocchi’s name has reportedly emerged as a target.

This morning’s edition of Tuttosport (via SempreMilan.it), the management have pretty much been constantly searching to find the ideal back-up to Theo Hernandez ever since he arrived from Real Madrid in 2019.

Ricardo Rodriguez decided to leave, Diego Laxalt was also sold and Fodè Ballo-Tourè has failed to establish himself as a reliable option since joining from Monaco during the 2021 summer transfer window.

The Rossoneri hae an interest in Pasquale Mazzocchi, a full-back who can play both on the right and on the left and has impressed with Salernitana, becoming a leader over the last season and a half or so.

There is another added layer to the story: Salernitana have an interest in signing Yacine Adli on loan and they are the team in pole to land him because he would reunite with his former coach Paulo Sousa who had him at Bordeaux.

That is why Milan could ask for Mazzocchi as part of the overall operation, and the full-back – who has two goals and two assists in 20 league games this season – came through an Italian academy so helps with the composition of the UEFA squad list.
