Tuttosport: Milan serious about stealing Rabiot from Juventus – Moncada’s offer

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are serious about signing Adrien Rabiot on a free transfer, a report claims, to the extent that they have now matched Juventus’ offer.

This morning’s edition of Tuttosport (via MilanNews) reports that Juventus and in particular their sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli have been trying for several weeks to convince Rabiot to stay but without success.

While the Bianconeri seem ready to raise the white flag and accept losing him, Milan are perched at the window and have matched their offer but with a small difference: a three-year guaranteed contract.

The proposal sent to Rabiot’s mother-agent by Juve is €7.5m for two years, plus an option for a third. Geoffrey Moncada has offered the same salary but with three years guaranteed, and even though the Growth Decree would help things it would still make him the highest-paid player.

Rabiot and his entourage are stalling but also due to of the European Championship, because the midfielder is absolutely focused on winning the tournament. Along with Mike Maignan and Theo Hernandez, the Juventus man also started all three group games.

The goal is to remain focused on the competition even if Rabiot’s ears are open. Yesterday, for example, Didier Deschamps opened the French training camp to families and so Adrien met his mother Veronique who gave him the latest updates.

No decision has been made, also because his mother’s objective is to make the most of the European Championships in the hope that a top European club will come forward and offer an even higher pay packet.

  1. If this is real i rather the owner pay the amounts Theo and Mike are asking for. We need the core of ours to stay first before some new guys.

  2. 7.5 for two years? You probably meant per season. And if true then it raises the question about Theo and Mike’s negotiations and what sums are being discussed/demanded there?

And I don’t think Rabiot is the type of a defensive midfielder we need.

  3. Can we sell Reijnders now that he’s a superstar and one of the best players in the entire galaxy? So then we can sign decent midfielders like Rabiot or Fofana. Physical midfielders, with international experience, able to assist offensive players and to actually shoot on target.

        1. Does anyone here listen to Milan Weekly Podcast?

This guy sounds JUST like Gio from the Milan Weekly podcast. He’s a Salvadorean in SoCal. Talks and formulates sentences just like you, and also dense fella, just like you. (In fact I would bet you’re a Latino State side)

          Go check it out.

      1. Yeah man considering his accuracy I’m sure if he was trying to bang my mom he would hit the neighbor. At least you gave the other idiot a good laugh haha

I don’t hate him he’s a Milan player. I just want Milan to win. Reijnders is jack of all trades, master of none. He can be on the bench like some Vogel and Musah can play with U23.

        1. “ Yeah man considering his accuracy I’m sure if he was trying to bang my mom he would hit the neighbor.”

          Hahahahahahaha!!!!!

EPIC comeback from a stupid comment. LOL

          Well done @Bart

  4. People need to realize how Fonseca wants Milan to play. It’s gonna be 4-3-3 with two mezzalas and one regista. For this style of play, Rabiot is the plug-in-play perfect midfielder for Milan.

    Reijnders-Wieffer-Rabiot would bully Serie A

  5. Ya I can definitely seeing us paying 7.5M season to Rabiot

YUP this totally makes sense. Pay Rabiot but don’t pay Mike OR Theo who are amongst the 2 best in their positions in the world – but instead pay a 30 year old who runs hot and cold; has zero resale value; has a agent (mother) who is arguably worse than Kia and who im sure won’t ask for a penny in commissions LOL

    Ya this is totally Redbird

    1. Yea but who said Milan isn’t going to pay Mike and Theo?

I think 7.5mil is too much for Rabiot and might disrupt the pay balance at the club especially given the hierarchy. But we don’t yet know what numbers milan intend to renew the Frenchies at.

  6. I actually like Rabiot and I think this would be an intriguing signing. However, like others, I don’t understand how they can even think about doing this while Theo and Mike remain up in the air.

Inter took care of Lautaro and Barella before the Euros even started. Milan should have done the same thing, at the very least with Theo if not both Mike and Theo.
