Tuttosport: Milan to resume discussions with Kessie – the three ways to reach an agreement

There are three possible ways that AC Milan could finally obtain an agreement from Franck Kessie to renew his contract, according to a report.

According to the latest from Tuttosport (via MilanNews), the Rossoneri management are aiming to speed up in order to reach an agreement on the renewal of Kessie as soon as possible because the fact that his deal expires in June 2022 is worrying Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara.

The directors could take advantage of the international break to schedule a new meeting with George Atangana and try to reduce the distances between the parties. Kessie and his agent want €6.5-7m net per season and Milan’s offer is a five-year contract starting at €5.5m plus bonuses and rising to €6.5m as the contract goes on.

Kessie has always put Milan first but would like to become the highest paid player in the squad, though the club feel a raise to €5.5m is more than reflective of that. There are three ways to reach a deal: the first is that Milan accept Kessie’s conditions; the second is that the boy is convinced to lower to what the club proposes to him; the last is for both parties to take another step to close the deal halfway at around €6m net.
