Tuttosport: Milan to submit UCL squad list today – Pellegri among trio expected to miss out

AC Milan will submit their UEFA squad list today ahead of their Champions League group stage campaign, and three senior players are set to miss out.

This morning’s edition of Tuttosport (via MilanNews) confirms that the Rossoneri will have to submit their list of players eligible to play in the Champions League by midnight tonight, and there is a dilemma for Stefano Pioli and the coaching staff to resolve.

Due to the current construction of the squad and the various hierarchies, there is only one spot available for a player who was not trained in an Italian academy or in the Milan academy. The paper believes this slot is destined to be taken by Pierre Kalulu, given his versatility.

What does this mean? Well, Andrea Conti should be excluded as he has been from the first two league games, but so should winger Samu Castillejo. Summer signing Pietro Pellegri is also destined to miss out, purely from a numbers point of view.
