Tuttosport: Milan could rival Torino in race for young Salzburg centre-back

By Isak Möller -

Due to the exit of Alessio Romagnoli, as well as Matteo Gabbia on loan, AC Milan are looking to bring in a centre-back this summer. Oumar Solet is a low-cost option for the Rossoneri, a report claims.

After missing out on Sven Boman, who decided to join Newcastle, Milan have changed their strategy for the defence. Instead of spending around €30m on a centre-back, they will opt for a cheaper option and use the remaining money elsewhere.

According to Tuttosport, as cited by MilanNews, Torino have been following RB Salzburg centre-back Oumar Solet for quite some time. However, they could now face the competition of Milan, who are evaluating several options currently.

Solet is 22 years old and made 33 appearances for Salzburg this past season. As per Transfermarkt, he has a market value of €12m but it’s likely that the Austrian side will demand a bit more than that. For now, though, he’s just an idea for Milan.

  1. what happened to that kid Omeracic? from what I’ve seen he was a more complete defender than Botman himself and his price was only 20 milions

    1. Omeragić, he is still in Zurich. I think 20M for him was too much, why Milan isn’t that interested anymore. Same thing for Solet, he can be interesting to Milan but he won’t leave for under 25M probably, Salzburg doesn’t sell cheap.
