Tuttosport: Milan remain vigilant as Arsenal winger is yet to sign renewal

By Isak Möller -

AC Milan are looking for a new right-winger to replace the exit-bound Junior Messias for next season. Many names have been mentioned but Arsenal’s Reiss Nelson appears to be the main target, given that he could arrive on a free.

The Rossoneri want to reinforce the squad this summer and with several players expected to leave, signings will indeed be needed. Junior Messias and Alexis Saelemaekers, the current right-wingers, could both leave the club.

According to today’s edition of Tuttosport (via SempreMilan), Milan have Reiss Nelson at the top of their list and will try until the very end. The winger is in contract talks with Arsenal and could still renew, but it hasn’t materialised yet.

At Milan, the 23-year-old could get more technical guarantees such as playing time, but the Rossoneri will not be able to compete with Arsenal salary-wise.

This past season, Nelson made eleven appearances in the league for Arsenal and found the back of the net three times. He also managed to get two assists, which are good stats especially if you consider that he only played 202 minutes.

  1. Get Nelson or any other brilliant attacker.
Nelson can start on the right & deputise Leao on the left.
    Messias can leave.
Sealermaekers is better (first touch & dribbling) in the build up with great contribution in defence & attack.
3-4-3 would be great with saeler & Nelson on the right

  2. Not happening but it’s a sad comment on the modern game when a player gets paid more to be Arsenal’s 7th or 8th choice attacking mid than to start for an Italian Champions League side 🙁
