Tuttosport: Milan still waiting to internally confirm Pioli’s departure – the details

By Ben Dixon -

While everyone knows the outcome that the end of the season will bring, AC Milan are yet to communicate the situation to Stefano Pioli, with the 58-year-old ‘awaiting communication from the club’.

Since the end of April, the fates of both parties have been known. The 5-year relationship will end, and they will go on separate paths. This season has seen lows much lower than the highs that have been produced, and separation is the only cure.

Pioli is aware of this and has been in contact with several clubs about a job next season, and the same communication has been held by Milan, albeit on different sides of the table. Talks have been ongoing with interested candidates, and whilst reports suggest they are in the final stages of the process, nothing has been agreed with anyone currently.

It has been planned that a decision would be confirmed at the end of the decision, but a farewell has not been announced yet. Instead, it is believed that the club will wait until next week to arrange meetings with the current manager, to confirm his departure, and to announce a farewell to the club and the world, reports Tuttosport (via Milan News).

Additionally, the early termination agreement has not been spoken of yet, so this will be a priority in the next few weeks. Especially considering the Rossoneri have a fixture in Australia at the end of the month.

  1. I’ve still got a tiny hope that he might stay – I really don’t see that any of the alternatives are worth the hassle of the change this summer personally, just seems like change for change’s sake.

If he is sadly forced out, then I hope the fans appreciate what he has done – not just the title, but making us a consistently competitive team, representing the club with complete dignity and developing a lot of the players we see as club icons today.

    1. I can see the curva sud gonna booed and give thumbsdown gesture to Pioli at the last match. And big chances the majority of commenters on this site will not aprreciate any of his contributions either by claiming the 19th scudetto, the semi final CL, and this season 2nd place as lucky.

    2. I cant speak for others but i’ll definitely always be grateful for his contributions to the club both on and off field.

  2. This club’s management team are a joke be lucky to grab 3 rd spot next season – way behind Sphincter and Pretentious..
