AC Milan’s strong desire to sign Christian Pulisic was not just motivated by what he can bring on the field, according to a report.
As Tuttosport (via MilanNews) report this morning, the signing of Pulisic strike can be analysed in two different ways, with the first and most important aspect being the sporting point of view.
Milan have got their hands on a player who is still young at 24 years old, but still with a lot of potential to fulfil and plenty of experience already acquired on the biggest stages, such as the Champions League and the World Cup.
Not only that, but the financial terms of the deal are good to say Chelsea paid over €60m to sign him from Borussia Dortmund, Milan will pay €22m (€20m fixed, €2m bonuses).
However, the deal is also a very significant marketing manoeuvre as the club welcomes the biggest star of American soccer, loved by all the fans across the Atlantic Ocean.
He is perhaps the best American player of all time and he is certainly the one who has had the most success in Europe, as well as being the first to win the Champions and the only one currently.
Milan’s stars and stripes influence increases as a result, ahead of a tour to the USA later this month for friendlies against Juventus, Real Madrid and Barcelona.

Pulisic doesn‘t take a non-EU spot. (US-Croat)
Pulisic at €22m is smart business. He has world-class potential and is only turning 25 this year. He’s already a CL-winner with over 50 national team appearances under his belt. Despite the injury record, he’s played in min. 30 matches every season.
But not full matches. He played a lot of last 10-15 minutes.
You are correct and maybe he was never really able to get match fitness, since there has been a lot of pressure to perform in Chelsea the last few years. My point was, though, that he has been fit enough to participate in that amount of matches at least. If he can play 2/3 of the matches, it still seems like a smart investment in my eyes. Time will tell, if he arrives at all.
Indeed, but Chelsea signs a new winger every summer. Literally. Difficult to be the day-in day-out starter there even if always healthy. Next summer they will sign another winger and one of the wingers already there will see his time reduced. One of the wingers in his second or third year there will get sold. It’s a carousel.
It’s funny because Paramount+ looks to become Inter’s shirt sponsor and they have the rights to Serie A in the States. Since Cpt America ia coming to Milan, most American fans would likely tune in to Paramount to watch Milan instead of Inter 🤣👍🏻
20m euro are cheap consider he can bring more income from USA for AC milan. Yes he play less last season for chelsea but he is determine to revive his career again
