Tuttosport: Milan want two more Frenchmen after Maignan – striker and €5-10m playmaker targeted

AC Milan’s squad could take on a French flavour in the next few weeks as the club are targeting two of Mike Maignan’s compatriots, a report claims.

After sealing Maignan’s arrival from Lille on a five-year deal yesterday, Tuttosport (via MilanLive) writes that the management are also pursuing Olivier Giroud whose contract is expiring with Chelsea.

He seems to be the man chosen to take Mandzukic’s place in next season’s squad as contacts have started with Giroud’s entourage, with the 34-year-old striker ready for new adventures around Europe. Milan have put a two-year contract worth €4m net per season on the plate to convince the ex-Arsenal man to try Serie A for the first time.

The other Frenchman in Milan’s sights is completely the opposite of Giroud: the young attacking midfielder Amine Adli. The Rossoneri’s scouts have already given positive feedback on the qualities of Adli, who was crowned the best player in Ligue 2. Milan will have to negotiate the purchase with Toulouse, but an operation of €5-10m is possible.
