Tuttosport: Milan willing to listen to offers for two wingers ahead of the summer

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are willing to listen to offers for two wingers this summer ahead of a potential overhaul of the attack, a report claims.

According to a report by Tuttosport (via MilanLive), neither Alexis Saelemaekers nor Ante Rebic are considered as being unsellable by the Milan management. It is not that they have been actively put up for sale, but moreso that bids will be evaluated when and if they arrive.

The Belgian and the Croatian did not have the best of seasons in terms of attacking output, not helped by the fact that Rafael Leao exploded and nailed down a spot on the right while Junior Messias came in and made an impact on the opposite flank scoring six times.

With the links to various attacking targets such as Noa Lang, Marco Asensio and others, it could very well end up being a very busy summer in terms of turnover in the forward group.

  1. Aside from needing his versatility he’s good when he come on late.
Sell saladmaker if an offer comes in…I like his hussel but he sux at scoring goals or assisting.

  2. rebic playing as number 9 is still our best pressing formation…Giroud was not really an upgrade, i think a starting RW instead of Giroud would have been the much better decision.

    1. Nesta, while we definitely need a very big upgrade at RW, it is impossible and silly to think that getting Giroud wasn’t a good decision. He scored the biggest goals at the biggest times in the biggest games. His 2 goals v Inter and then shortly after the winning goal versus Napoli completely saved our season. And of course the 2 goals v Sassuolo reduced all tension on the final day. He was a GENIUS signing and played way more minutes than anyone thought he would due to both Ibra and Rebic injuries — he was FANTASTIC this season and a rossonero hero forever.

  3. Rebic will leave so he can start at Wolfsburg. He won’t start at Milan so this is fair enough.

Anything we can get for Saelemaekers is good just like our capital gain with JPH.

  4. It is true, every year the winner of Champions League has a Croat who STARTED the match for past 10 years:

2022 Champions League winners (Madrid — Modric)
    2021 CL winners Chelsea (Kovacic)
    2020 CL winners Bayern (Perisic)
    2019 Liverpool (Dejan Lovren)
    2018 Madrid (Modric & Kovacic)
    2017 Madrid (Modric & Kovacic)
    2016 Madrid (Modric (2 assists) & Kovacic)
2015 Barcelona (Rakitic – scored first goal)
    2014 Madrid (Modric)
2013 Bayern (Mandzukic — goal and an assist)

Only Brazil and Spain have had players in those same 10 years but Bayern’s 2020 team’s only Brazilian was Coutinho and he didn’t play; and Liverpool’s 2019 team’s only Spaniard was Alberto Moreno who almost never played all year.
