Tuttosport: Milan won’t give up on discount for Tomori – talks with Chelsea scheduled

By Isak Möller -

Fikayo Tomori impressed a lot during his six-month loan spell at Milan and the latter are looking to sign him permanently. With the Champions League qualification, the funds are there and negotiations have been scheduled.

According to Tuttosport (via MilanNews), the Rossoneri haven’t given up on getting a discount and will initiate the negotiations with Chelsea on Monday. The buy-out option is valued at €28m and Paolo Maldini wants to lower this a tad.

It won’t be easy to convince the Stamford Bridge side to review the agreement, especially if you consider Tomori’s performances, but Milan will give it a try. Perhaps a solution could be the change the payment structure and not the €28m fee.

Either way, the Rossoneri are determined to have Tomori as one of their starting centre-backs for next season. Should the negotiations with Chelsea fail, then Milan will bite the bullet and pay the full €28m.
