In addition to reinforcing the midfield, Milan also have another priority on the transfer market: bring in a backup goalkeeper. Currently, Stefano Pioli only has the Donnarumma brothers at his disposal.

According to today’s edition of Tuttosport (via Milanlive.it), the Rossoneri have recently probed the ground for a few goalkeepers with Serie A experience. Antonio Mirante (Roma) and Andrea Consigli (Sassuolo) to name a few, but the feedback wasn’t positive.

The track leading to Asmir Begovic is still alive, although the Bosnian will have to lower his salary demands of €2m per year. However, a new name has emerged on the list, namely Neto. The Brazilian is ready to leave Barcelona.

In fact, his agent Stefano Castagna offered his services to Milan. It’s an idea that teases, but the costs of the operation also need to be considered. The search continues but for now, Antonio Donnarumma is the second-choice goalkeeper.
