Tuttosport: Motta pushing for Milan outcast to join Juventus – €10m price tag set

By Isak Möller -

Alexis Saelemaekers isn’t expected to be redeemed by Bologna, following the arrival of Vincenzo Italiano, and will have to find a new club for next season. According to a report, he could reunite with Thiago Motta at Juventus.

Saelemekers left Milan on an initial loan deal last summer, with a buy-out worth around €10m, and he helped Bologna qualify for the Champions League. However, the manager Motta is now Juventus-bound and his replacement – Italiano – is not keen on the Belgian.

According to today’s edition of Tuttosport, as cited by MilanEye, Motta really appreciates the versatility of the Milan winger and would like to work with him at Juventus. The latter could thus make a concrete move soon, with the Rossoneri willing to accept a bid of just over €10m.

This past season, Saelemaekers scored four goals and assisted an additional three, playing mainly on the left side of the attack. Above all, he showcased his tactical obedience and this is one of the main reasons why Motta would like to reunite with him.

With the sale of the winger, Milan will make a decent capital gain that no doubt will be reinvested in the transfer market, with many targets on their list.

  1. Include him in player+cash deal for Chiesa and play Pulisic at no.10

Leao-Pulisic-Chiesa behind Zirkzee would be tasty! Would need a proper DM to be signed but we need that anyway

    1. Milan are missing that Italian core, I appreciate that there are better players out there but that core is what gets you through difficult periods and create consistency and that is the reason we messed up in so many games last season, we could have and should have made the title race much closer….

Let’s not make that mistake again, Boungerno should be our priority after Zirkee,, not just because we desperately need his leadership and skills and he will always give everything he has in every game against a lower or higher opposition (something our current squad is guilty of not turning up against lesser opposition) but to stop him from becoming a Napoli or Inter legend, he should be a Milan legend he can be in a our first team for a decade, so any value on him (even 50 – 60m) would not be too much.

All that said I think Napoli will pick him up for 45 – 50m and we will just be spectators, knowing full well he is better than any of our defensive unit!!.

Oh yeah (sorry for the rant) Chiesa would be an amazing addition but Motta is too smart to let Milan get him he knows it would come back to haunt juve big time.

      1. Totally agree on the Italian core. Especially if the foreigner growth decree rule is scrapped.

Sadly aren’t many quality Italian players around these days, and those that are like Barella for example, are unattainable.

So the the likes of Chiesa and Buongiorno, if we have a chance we have to take. And how about Di Lorenzo given hes asked to leave Napoli??

I’m actually dreaming of Scalvini in summer 2025 if he recovers fully from serious injury and possible Camarda getting some 1st team minutes if he progresses by then….

  2. Alexis wasn’t up to par at Milan, but Juve want him? OK. I guess Motta hasn’t been told he can asked for more skilled players at Juve.

    1. Lol, in my opinion milan should keep Salad.
Once again he demonstrated his intensity and hard work in another team.
      Fonseca can play a 3-4-3
Atracking with Theo + Leao on the left combined with Salad + Pulisic/chukwueze would leave our opponents in danger.
