AC Milan will have to quickly forget about the big derby loss against Inter, although that won’t be easy, as a hectic schedule awaits. The game against Newcastle, in fact, is just two days away.
As stated in today’s edition of Tuttosport (via MilanNews), there is no valid justification for Milan’s loss against Inter. The performance was simply not acceptable but at the same time, there is no time to dwell on the matter.
The game against Newcastle is scheduled for Tuesday evening and Milan need to get off to a good start, seeing as their Champions League group is very tough. Furthermore, a win is just what they need for their confidence.
Fikayo Tomori will be back in action for the game and that’s a boost for Pioli, but the tactical approach must be a lot better for Tuesday’s clash. It remains to be seen what the condition of those who played last night is, and some changes to the starting XI cannot be ruled out.
