Tuttosport: One European, Three Italian – the four clubs vying for Pioli’s signature

By Ben Dixon -

Work still needs to be done on the signature of the next AC Milan head coach. However, their current coach, Stefano Pioli, has plenty of suitors awaiting his availability, a report has claimed.

Although no message has been conveyed about Pioli’s future, or lack of it, the message is known. Saturday’s game will be Pioli’s last as the head coach of Milan, and whilst the Curva Sud will still protest, they will also celebrate his tenure and thank him for his time as the head coach.

Nevertheless, it may not be the last time the 58-year-old is on the touchline at the San Siro, as per reports from Tuttosport (via Radio Rossonera). Instead, he could be on the touchlines again next season, albeit in the opponent’s technical area.

As the report suggests, Pioli is a target for several clubs. Firstly, Fenerbahce are interested and represent the sole international interest in his services.

Alternatively, there is the option of a stay in Italy, where there are several suitors, understandably. Pioli’s name is alongside the names of Antonio Conte, Vincenzo Italiano and Gian Piero Gasperini on Aurelio De Laurentiis’ list for the next Napoli coach.

However, there is also interest from Atalanta, if Gasperini leaves, and Bologna.
