AC Milan head coach Stefano Pioli has a plan for the next two games in terms of who will replace Rade Krunic at the base of the midfield, a report claims.
Tuttosport (via MilanNews) write this morning how Pioli finds himself having to deal with the absence of Krunic, one of his loyalists and a key man who was expected to replace Ismael Bennacer in the line-up until the new year.
Yacine Adli was promoted to being a starter against Cagliari and also in today’s match against Lazio the Franco-Algerian should start from the first minute between Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Tijjani Reijnders.
However, even in that role there will be a need for turnover, which is why Tuttosport believe that Adli will start today but will not get the nod in the game against Borussia Dortmund next week.
On Wednesday in Germany it will probably be Yunus Musah’s turn in the midfield. The American played the last half hour in Cagliari as the deeper-lying midfielder and Pioli confirmed that he can play there if needed.
That’s good. We need a very strong player to play 6 against Dortmund because they attack through the middle.
It doesn’t really matter who plays the role, or how strong the person is,I believe the most important concern should be the interpretation of the role and and overall, the team play of AC Milan should be mass attack and defence. That way, our weakest link will be as strong.
Musah is not a playmaker of any kind. He can plays as a DM, he still won’t be a “deep-lying playmaker”. Complete stupidity, whoever wrote this…
No one wrote playmaker… at least when I read it the article write deep-lying midfielder, as in not True DM but a mid that positioned deeper than other mid.
And it’s quite right imo
