Tuttosport: ‘Pioli, have you seen Chukwueze?’ – winger enjoying ‘trust’ of new coach

Samuel Chukwueze has been one of the stand-out players of AC Milan’s preseason campaign so far, and a report about the winger has taken a dig at Stefano Pioli.

As Tuttosport (via MilanNews) report, Chukwueze has started preseason the way that he finished last season, i.e. playing full of confidence and looking like one of the brightest stars on the team.

From March onwards, the former Villarreal man seemed to settle into a groove with Milan and with Italian football, while this summer he has taken full advantage of the opportunity to work immediately with the team and with the new coach.

The produce has been seen in the first friendlies as he got two assists against Manchester City in New York and then scored the winner against Real Madrid a few days later, with a final game in the USA to come against Barcelona on Tuesday.

The paper has teased former coach Stefano Pioli a little with the headline: ‘Sorry for the delay. Pioli, have you seen Chukwueze? The most expensive signing in the 2023 market has finally blossomed’.

Of course he must keep this up when the competitive games begin, but the piece mentions Chukwueze’s recent comments in which he praised Fonseca and at the same time indirectly involves Pioli.

“I like the new coach, he immediately gave me an opportunity, it’s important when someone trusts you; the fans will see a new Samu this year,” he said. A clean slate for the Nigerian, which could be vital.

  1. Request.

Can SempreMilan please stop putting up videos of Daniel Maldini’s crossing or any of the other former players and soon to be former players?

    It’s depressing.

        1. What you don’t like closing the pop up video every time you read an article or want to interact with the navigation?

          1. Hahaha

Guess They have to make money somehow right? They’re already taking our data through cookies and the 200+ vendors in the background just farming profiles on us and other users. Meh 🤷‍♂️

  2. Amazing what a full preseason can do to a player right? And now we’re in August and still without most crucial role covered. So management should adjust their expectations in line with their work on mercato. Which is mediocre.

  3. What a ridiculous article. Because Chuku had a couple good Pre-season Friendly games against other teams B side ??? Settle down.

  4. i keep telling fans, chuku might not be a good league player but right now he his the most reliable winger we have in international competition. man this guy balls when he see teams like Madrid, Barcelona, English teams.
pioli was just hell bent on trusting pulisic because he arrived first. we played against a B teams with good starters imbedded in them, but don’t forget they were coached by arguably the best tactians in football. i’m 100 💯 sure pioli would have lost one and draw the other of those preseason matches.

chuku won’t score many goals this season but he will have a double digit assist sheet. and he will give us a beautiful football to watch keeping us all on our feet. we can take a bet. if you are down for one

  5. Stop with the nonsense. He has a few good games in pre season friendlies against the other teams B side and everyone wants to go crazy about Chuku. Didn’t show anything when it actually mattered last season. Pulisic is so far better of a player it’s not even worth discussing.

LMAO 🤣😂🤣😂. Hoping to come back here to see it blown up in their face. It’s been a couple of preseason games which tbh I didn’t find him to be THAT great. He’s lightweight still imo and one dimensional. I believe he’ll be found out really quickly in Serie A. Hoping I’m wrong though but he’s still a very expensive backup imo.
For balance I would like to point out that some of the stats Leao was ahead of other attackers last year Chuk started to take over at the end. So that I’ll give him credit for (also was surprising not to see Puli overtake Leao on some attacking metrics but Chuk did with less time).

  7. what nonsense @k you have only seen chuku played at milan.

stop been ignorant milan is not his first club and villa real is not happy offloading him. some dead head fans thought he came from a donkey league 😒

    1. I don’t care where he came from. He is in Serie A now and so far he has been dissapointing to put it nicely. Sorry if I don’t get all excited about pre season friendlies. He’s a one footed footed player that you don’t have to worry about him beating you to the outside because if he does he will eventually have to cut back inside to the only foot he is capable of using. Meanwhile Pulisic scored most of his goals last season on his weak foot. I’ll take that guy every time.

    1. Yay Europa outstanding.
Prior to us his best figures were 6 goals, that’s Messias level. And we paid 30m for that messias cost 5m lol 😂

  8. Pointless article, he contributed last season and Pioli had a great record of players settling into his system in their second year – hoping Chukwueze can push on this year to the player we know he can be, but that’s hardly at Pioli’s door
