Stefano Pioli has the full confidence and backing of the Milan management and that is why his contract renewal will soon be discussed, a report claims.
This morning’s edition of Tuttosport (via MilanNews) writes how Pioli arrived perhaps as an interim solution under the nickname of ‘The Normaliser’ as he was expected to bring stability and repair some of the damage after Marco Giampaolo’s disastrous tenure, but what he has ended up doing is something exceptional and unique.
He is the right man for Milan and nobody at the club has any doubts about that. Pioli is preparing to rack up 100 games as the Rossoneri’s head coach and ahead of him are club icons such as Ancelotti, Capello, Rocco and Liedholm.
It has been a constant and continuous evolution under the former Lazio and Fiorentina boss, one that has led Milan from sixth to second place, back into the Champions League and with a team that plays entertaining football.
Over the next few weeks there will be new contacts to discuss the extension of his contract beyond the current June 2022 deadline. The club have a one-year renewal option but the parties are working to reach a two-year extension with a third-year option.
