AC Milan coach Stefano Pioli has come up with a plan which could see Theo Hernandez get more attacking freedom down the left wing against Napoli this evening, a report claims.
As has been reported by Tuttosport (via Milan News), Pioli wants to change the configuration of his midfield so that the French full-back is able to get up the pitch and link up with Rafael Leao, who also has a lot of pressure to perform at the moment.
Generally, Tijjani Reijnders plays on the left of the midfield three whilst Ruben Loftus-Cheek is on the right.
With the latter out injured, Yunus Musah has been playing on the right but given the types of midfielders that the two are, Pioli may swap them. Musah tends to get forward less and covers more ground in a defensive sense.
This means that he can more adequately cover the left-back slot when Hernandez gets forward, giving the Frenchman more freedom.
Musah played on left CM last time
Theo’s problem is not the formation it’s his attitude and work rate.
This is where a tough boss like a Capello or a Ferguson would bench him.
He needs a kick up the a**
Better to get his attitude adjusted now rather than let things fester
He has an attitude problem but this inverted fullback thing is not working with him (or Calabria for that matter)
bench him for who, your mum?
You cannot bench Hernandez in this situation, you are probably saying so because you are not a real Milan fan
Pioli is an idiot not to play Adli. You can see the quality difference between him and Krunic. Krunic can’t make a pass.
