Stefano Pioli is hoping to have both Theo Hernandez and Davide Calabria back at his disposal when AC Milan take on Cagliari on Wednesday evening, a report claims.
As has been reported by Tuttosport (via Milan News), the coach feels that their physical issues may be smaller enough that they can come straight back into the fold.
Both defenders missed the match against Verona as they had muscular issues, but it seemed to be brought on by fatigue rather than being the sort of injury that keeps players out for weeks.
For that reason, there is genuine hope and belief that the duo only needed the one game out.
Their absence was a large part of the reason why Pioli moved to a 3-4-3 formation rather than sticking with the 4-3-3. It remains to be seen whether he will remain with that or head back to a 4-3-3 with more players at his disposal.
Lack of rest for Theo Hernandez is an issue here.
