Stefano Pioli is a driving force behind AC Milan’s interest in signing Josip Ilicic from Atalanta, according to a report.
According to today’s edition of Tuttosport (via NotizieMilan), Pioli is a big admirer of Ilicic and would certainly not say no to his arrival because of the solutions he offers from a tactical point of view, given it would him to use new formations.
The paper claims that Ilicic has never disappeared off the Rossoneri’s radar as a market objective, and the Slovenia international is seen by Pioli as a player could be an important resource.
That is because he could be deployed as an attacking midfielder in a 4-2-3-1, a right winger, or even potentially a system that Pioli has not yet used yet, possibly one that involves playing with two attacking midfielders and a centre-forward, such as a 4-3-2-1 as we saw Milan play back in the days of Carlo Ancelotti.

Given the limited resources we have I think he’d be a good addition given that he is mentally & physically ready for a new challenge.
I hope we don’t buy this guy , he is past his peak and he doesn’t really fit in . Zlatan, Giroud & Kjaer have different positions and are Leaders and Illicic is not.
