Tuttosport: Pioli set to battle injury crisis against Man Utd – only Tonali back for Verona

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan head coach Stefano Pioli will still have to battle a selection crisis of sorts during Sunday’s trip to face Hellas Verona.

According to this morning’s edition of Tuttosport (via MilanNews), Pioli should only recover one player for the game at the Bentegodi, namely Sandro Tonali. That means that he will be without Ibrahimovic, Bennacer, Calhanoglu and Mandzukic, who are still out with muscle problems and will not be called up for the trip to Veneto.

The Swede – who injured his left adductor during the win over Roma – will sit out for a couple of weeks, while Calhanoglu and Rebic should return a few days earlier. The player who should recover for the match against Napoli is Bennacer, who is feeling better after sustaining a muscle problem in his right thigh during the Europa League match against Red Star.

However, all four should also miss Thursday’s match against Manchester United at Old Trafford. Tonali – who went off at half-time against Udinese on Wednesday night – will be available as his problem is nothing serious.
