Tuttosport: Pioli to make decision on Rebic today plus potential rotation in defence

By Oliver Fisher -

Today will be a decisive day in seeing whether Ante Rebic will be available for tomorrow night’s game against Bologna, a report claims.

The Croatian suffered an ankle problem last Saturday during the match against Hellas Verona and the tests he underwent after the game fortunately ruled out a long term problem, but the injury still forced him to miss the Champions League match at Porto.

Tuttosport (via MilanNews) reports that a decision will be taken by Stefano Pioli and the medical staff today. If he is deemed fit to return to training with the rest of the squad then he will be called up for the trip to the Stadio Dall’Ara, but if he trains alone then Rebic will stay at Milanello to continue his recovery in view of the next match against Torino.

Pioli is also evaluating some changes to the starting line-up where Alessio Romagnoli could come into the defence in place of Fikayo Tomori while Franck Kessie is expected to come back into the midfield.

  1. Tomori definitely needs a break, he’s been a machine all year. You could see the physical toll it has taken him during the Porto game.

    Well-deserved rest!
