Stefano Pioli is set to name the starting line-up to face Cagliari as the one that beat Sampdoria 1-0 on Monday, a report claims.
Tuttosport (via MilanNews) reports that the whole XI who faced Sampdoria in the first game of the season should be unchanged. It was thought that Bennacer could play as Pioli declared: “He is ready to go from the beginning” – but the news from Milanello suggests that he will not be risked and Rade Krunic will get the nod again.
The paper remarks that Bennacer is fine, but he does not yet have 90 minutes in his legs and for this reason he will start on the bench against Cagliari. His position in the usual XI however is not in question, and once he has reached full condition he will be back in.
Tomori and Kjaer will defend the goal in front of Maignan, while the two full-backs will be Calabria and Theo Hernandez. Tonali also confirmed as Krunic’s partner in the midfield, and Leao will be preferred to Rebic on the left wing, with Brahim Diaz, Alexis Saelemaekers and Olivier Giroud completing the attack.

again. a silly choice from Pioli to not include bennacer as first starting. he does everything to involve Krunic the squad, gives him trust and so on but he weirdly not does that to Hauge. I hate this coach. This team has performed because of Ibra not Pioli

Ibra was out during the most important games at the end of the season. The good things are not all thanks to Ibra and everything that can be better is not all due to Pioli. Learn to be objective instead of a silly fanboy. Pioli earned 2nd place last season so he decided what happens next.
Krunic is Pioli’s boyfriend, there is no other explanation…

Krunic may not be a player many Milan fans like but honestly he is just hard working and tactically discipline. He plays to the coaches instructions and has earns the coach trust. We are all one as Milan fans and we have to support Krunic to grow and improve as he has been given more time to play.

Agreed. Those who are yelling at everything they don’t like, have not been there when things were a lot worse. They do not know the history of the club and have an unhealthy vision of the future. I too would like to see some things different and there’s always room for improvement, but Milan has come a long way and the team is making progress at a good pace. I honestly don’t see how that can go any faster, within the margins of the budget. That last thing will become more important the coming years also for teams that live by the sky is the limit now.
