Tuttosport: Pioli with a dilemma ahead of Inter clash – Brahim Diaz could be the surprise

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan head coach Stefano Pioli is leaning towards giving Brahim Diaz a start in tomorrow’s derby against Inter, a report claims.

According to Tuttosport (via MilanNews), Ante Rebic has not recovered in time for Saturday’s game, meaning that the left wing spot as opened up and Pioli must pick a replacement for the Croatia international.

Pioli has an abundance of players that can play that position though, and the paper adds that the hypothesis that intrigues the Milan coach the most is that of deploying Brahim Diaz on the left.

The Spaniard could be Pioli’s ‘surprise move’ as he is in very good form. He was impressive against Crotone and Spezia and with the Spain U21 national team over the break with whom he scored a decisive brace against the Faroe Islands.

If Brahim were chosen, he would certainly give more unpredictability to starting XI, but there are other options too to be considered like Rafael Leao or even playing Saelemaekers on that side.

Pioli still has two training sessions available to make his choice, but the Spaniard has a great desire to play.
