Tuttosport: PSG defender jumps to top of Milan’s centre-back target list

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan need to sign at least one central defender during the January transfer window and they may turn to Paris Saint-Germain, according to a report.

With Fikayo Tomori facing over one month out, the management are looking for potential reinforcements ahead of the mercato reopening in one week, and Tuttosport (via Radio Rossonera) reports that there is a name that stands out.

Malick Thiaw should return in January, Pierre Kalulu will be out for a while longer, Marco Pellegrino will be back soon but is inexperienced, while Mattia Caldara is not a part of the plans, which – after Tomori’s injury – puts the department in emergency.

The main option in terms of signings seems to be Nordi Mukiele of PSG. The 26-year-old has rarely been used by the Parisians (nine total appearances in the season) and has been followed for some time by technical director Geoffrey Moncada, and by sporting director Antonio D’Ottavio.

Milan want to try and sign the former RB Leipzig centre-back on an initial loan deal. The other solutions being evaluated on loan are West Ham’s Thilo Kehrer, Clement Lenglet at Aston Villa (on loan from Barcelona) and Matteo Gabbia’s early return from Villarreal.
