Tuttosport: Quiet on Kessie front but Milan must act – the latest on the renewal

By Isak Möller -

In addition to reinforcing the squad with signings, Milan also need to lock down their most important players. They certainly don’t want another Donnarumma-esque situation and this forces them to act on this front.

One of their key players is Franck Kessie and his contract will expire in 2022. In other words, the Rossoneri need to make some progress on the renewal front. As reported by Tuttosport (via MilanNews), though, there hasn’t been much action.

The last time Milan met the Ivorian’s agent was back in March, but they failed to reach an agreement then. In the current contract, the salary is €2.2m per year and that will have to be improved to reach an agreement.

It remains to be seen, however, how far the Rossoneri are willing to go and more updates on this should arrive in the next few weeks. Of course, Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara absolutely don’t want to lose the player.
