Tuttosport: Rangnick already at work – from staff to players he wants an Italian core

By Oliver Fisher -

Ralf Rangnick is already working with and for Milan, because the new season – despite the doubts and uncertainties about the current one – must be approached in the best way.

According to Tuttosport (via MilanNews), Rangnick wants to give an Italian soul to his team. This starts with the staff, meaning goalkeeper coach Luigi Turci may remain, as could the medical team led by Dr. Mazzoni. Daniele Bonera’s position is also to be evaluated, as he could be promoted to assistant coach.

Rangnick has already let the company know that he wants a “Milanese doc” at his side, so a phone call to Mauro Tassotti could be made as a potential alternative to Bonera. Watch out also for Daniele Massaro, who could have a managerial role, while the chances of the director Frederic Massara remaining are growing.

Rangnick, in fact, also wants to focus on an all-Italian backbone for his team. At the moment Milan can count on Donnarumma and Romagnoli and on players such as Conti, Calabria and Bonaventura.

All five, however, are in the balance: Gigio has a contract expiring in 2021, the two full-backs have never fully convinced, while Jack is now certain to leave the club in the summer. In short, in all likelihood the club will have to resort to the market to replenish the Italian group.
