The midfield is one of AC Milan’s main priorities ahead of the 2025-26 season and according to a newspaper this morning, Samuele Ricci is set to become the first signing for the department.
The departure of Tijjani Reijnders, who joined Manchester City earlier this month, will inevitably be felt for Milan. As such, sporting director Igli Tare is working on reinforcing the midfield department, with Ricci reportedly just one step away from joining.

Ricci prepares for medical
As per Tuttosport this morning (via MilanNews), Ricci will likely be the first signing for the midfield this summer. Milan and Torino are working out the final details for the agreement, expected to take a few days, and then the total green light will arrive.
The midfielder is currently on vacation in Uganda but has already been told that the medical tests could take place next week. In fact, he could even arrive in Milan in the first days of next week. For his age, potential and nationality (good for squad lists), he would be a terrific signing.

Patience needed for others
In addition to Ricci, Milan are also working on the signings of Ardon Jashari and Granit Xhaka. The former has a very high price tag as Club Brugge have put up a wall, wanting around €35m plus bonuses for the 22-year-old.
Milan are willing to up their offer to €30m plus bonuses, but time and patience will definitely be needed to get this deal over the line. The negotiations with the Belgian side for Charles De Ketelaere three years ago are further proof of that.
As for Xhaka, Milan have put €10m on the table and Bayer Leverkusen remain adamant on getting €15m for the Swiss international. It’s unlikely that the Rossoneri will reach that demand, given the player’s age, so patience will also be needed here.

Ricci is the only affordable italian DM for now. Rovella cost’s too high not to mention Barella. Casadei is a bit too green. Add Berardi or Calafiori would be better.
I hope with Max’s experience he can help Ricci to become a combination (Pirlo + Gattuso). And I hope AC Milan will not sell their core players easily in the future
Barella, Berardi, and Calafiori are not DMs.
Yes, just wanna add winger or wingback, but forgot that calafiori’s already belong to arse-nal
