Tuttosport: Romagnoli wants to stay but his demands leave Milan apprehensive – the latest

By Oliver Fisher -

Alessio Romagnoli wishes to continue his journey with AC Milan but the club are not keen on giving him the pay rise he wants, a report claims.

As Tuttosport report on Monday (via MilanLive), Romagnoli’s renewal is among the topics that must be discussed with agent Mino Raiola in the coming months, as the captain’s current contract expires in June 2022 and the club would like to find an agreement.

Currently, the 25-year-old earns a net yearly salary of €3.5million and the Italian-Dutch agent is demanding an increase to around the €5m mark, but it is an increase that the Milan management are reluctant to give him at the moment.

Paolo Maldini and co. consider Romagnoli to be an important member of the team, but they are apprehensive about once again inflating the wage bill after all the hard work to reduce it over the last couple of windows.

Milan hope to reach an agreement in the knowledge that the player for his part would like to remain, but with Raiola you never know how it could end. Should offers arrive, particularly from abroad, it will be necessary to see what will happen.
