Tuttosport: Sala to meet Milan and Inter regarding San Siro plans

The Mayor of Milan Beppe Sala will soon meet with AC Milan and Inter to discuss the possibility of them remaining at San Siro after the renovation project was announced.

On Wednesday, the plan to spend €300m on San Siro to improve the stadium itself and the surrounding areas was unveiled at the City Hall.

According to Tuttosport (via MilanNews), Sala will now meet Milan and Inter in the next few days to talk and find out their thoughts on the plans.

“I will convene the clubs very soon, we will certainly meet next week. We are in touch and the relations are very good,” he said.

“At this point it is for the clubs to express interest or at least study the San Siro dossier as there is a constraint which is whether the works can be done without closing the stadium.

“I also understand that if this is not the case it is very difficult for them but if instead it can be done it could become the hypothesis is more attractive for them too.”

In particular, Sala is targeting Milan who are further ahead in their bid to build a new stadium in San Donato compared to Inter’s move to Rozzano.

A few days ago, the Rossoneri received the first official green light from the Council in San Donato which started the entire bureaucratic process. The road is long, but the red side of the city seems to have made his choice.
