Tuttosport: Sarri, Conceicao, Allegri – the five names who could replace Fonseca

With Paulo Fonseca’s job slipping from his grasp, AC Milan may begin to look at the next option. At present, it seems five candidates are being considered, including two who were looked at in the summer.

Milan’s poor start may force the Rossoneri’s management to make a decision about Fonseca’s position this weekend, and reports have already speculated that a decision has already been made, regardless of this weekend’s result.

The Derby della Madonnina as believed to be the last chance for the Portuguese head coach, but with the disappointments of the season so far, their hands may be forced. If Fonseca is to be sacked, it seems the Rossoneri already have a shortlist of replacements in mind, according to this morning’s edition of Tuttosport (via Milan News).

Leading the list for the Diavolo are the names of Edin Terzic and Maurizio Sarri, but it has been suggested that Zlatan Ibrahimovic is not fond of the latter choice, with him preferring a different option.

Alternatively, the Rossoneri may make another attempt for Sergio Conceicao – who nearly joined the club during the summer. Massimiliano Allegri features on the list, but his relationship with Ibra is questionable. Finally, Igor Tudor is being evaluated and he thinks highly of Ibrahimovic.

  1. I can not understand why this club could spend 20mio on emerson royal that we did not need and so useless, but not willing to hire and pay a world class coach. Crazy

    1. Not that I’m justifying the Royal move which is also the deal in the Mercato that puzzles me the most as it isn’t really an update in regard of Calabria but the Brazilian was nevertheless bought for 15 mil euros and not 20 mil euros.
It would probably have been smart to have kept Pioli for the last year of his contract and then next year moved for Klopp or some other statement signing.

      1. My comment in regard of keeping Pioli is also in the context of keeping stability and for the fact that the season preparations was hampered by the Euros and the late return of some of our players.

    2. Zlatan answered that, he said they are looking for a coach and not a manager when asked why Conte wasn’t considered.

They basically want a yes man, none of the top managers will accept that. Even from this list I see only Terzic as a yes man type of manager and this is why he is the closest to get the job.

Don’t expect much from these 🤡🤡🤡 in the management.

    3. Exactly exactly exactly. Buy cheap buy twice. I think the owners have watched too many sports films and truly believe a rousing speech is enough to get 3 points. Utter muppets.

  2. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. Since the season has started it should be between sarri or allegri. Conceicao you should have got in the summer and you basically waited for him to meet villas boas and as he left you switched on him, so if you bring him in now he will do no better than what fonseca has because he needs to get adjusted to a new team, new league, new style and same applies to terzic.

It really bothers me that management got the coach wrong from the beginning and they seem to be making the same mistake again!!

I don’t even want allegri and even I can see that he would be a better option than any foreign coach that has no serie a experience. My oreferance is sarri because he best suits this team and has won in the Italian league. Allegri unfortunately as alternative.

  3. And what bugs me even more is you cheap out on a coach because you thought there was no need to but guess what. A good coach can make a bad team play well and a bad coach can make a good team play bad. A coach is the most important part to a team’s success. Vergogna.

    1. You hit the nail in the head! Coach was key to this team and they got it wring from the start. Look at what Inzaghi has done with Lazio and Inter. Or De Zerbi with Sassuolo and Brighton. A good coach who has clear ideas and a clear philosophy can make or break a team.

They keep spending money on Emerson Royals and Fonsecas of the world while De Zerbi keeps building winning teams. Pathetic…

  4. Against Liverpool it showed Leao receiving instructions from Fonseca, it was just him and Fonseca on the side lines alone while a player was down injured or something and Leao kinda rolled his eyes, maybe I’m reading into too deep, but I definitely think Fonseca has lost Leao and possibly Theo. I don’t know if the team just needs more time to figure out his tactics or if they really want someone else at the helm, regardless it sucks for Milan fans and it was frustrating watching Atalanta draw Arsenal and Inter draw City!!

    1. To be fair players should act professionally regardless whether they like the coach or not otherwise they should find themselves different professions. Not only are they extremely well paid but if acting out they are hurting the team but also the fans who actually pays their wages via ticket sales, merchandise and tv packages all which is becoming increasingly more expensive in an economy where normal people are having a more difficult time to make ends meet. If they cant do that then they simply doesn’t show enough respect for those who actually brings food on their tables.
