Tuttosport: Spirit of Zaccheroni’s side lives on – three reasons Milan should still believe in the Scudetto

Even though Inter are now the overwhelming favourites, AC Milan should still believe in the Scudetto for three reasons, according to a report.

Tuttosport (via MilanNews) write how at Milanello some still believe in the Scudetto, including Stefano Pioli who remarked: “We still have ten league games ahead and we must try to win them all. If we succeed, then we’ll see where we will have finished.”

The Diavolo have at least three reasons to believe in the comeback, a bit like Zaccheroni’s Milan did in the 1998-99 season. The first is certainly the recovery of Zlatan Ibrahimovic who will try to remain fit until the end of the campaign now and will hope to add to his goal tally of 15 in 15.

A second reason is the return in form of some key players such as Calhanoglu and Bennacer who are vital for the spine of the team and showed in Florence that they are recovering their best psychophysical condition. Romagnoli, Calabria, Rebic, Leao and Mandzukic will all return soon too.

The last reason to still believe in the Scudetto is mental and psychological: Milan have nothing to lose, they do not have the obligation to win the league like Inter and therefore can play with a clear head.
