Former Manchester United midfielder Nemanja Matic has been offered to both AC Milan and Juventus as he tries to force a move away from Ligue 1 side Stade Rennais.
As has been reported by Tuttosport (via Milan News), the former Man Utd, Chelsea and AS Roma midfielder is looking for a way out of Stade Rennais and his agent is trying to orchestrate a return to Serie A.
Matic was an important player for Roma but they allowed him to leave in the summer of 2023 as they tried to lower the age of the squad, but Matic seems to have fallen out with the hierarchy at Stade Rennais will almost certainly leave this month.
It seems that neither Juventus nor Milan responded very well to the offer of signing Matic this month, which means the agent of the Serbian will likely have to keep on looking elsewhere.
A return to Roma has been talked about in other reports, which may be of interest given Renato Sanches’ injuries and Houssem Aouar’s absence at the Africa Cup of Nations.
Milan have lost Rade Krunic this month as he is about to sign for Fenerbahce, so there is scope for a midfield reinforcement. It currently seems unlikely that it will be Matic.

Give him a 6 months contact then get a better younger midfielder in the summer. No need to splash money this window as Milan’s season is more or less already decided.Although I see a squad with the potential of being a lot more dominant. If the team starts playing better I’d be confident of not being out of the scudetto as Inter are to be a little distracted by the cups, hopefully they go far in the CL, they are going to drop points in the league anyway .Realistically tho we won’t lift a trophy while the current squad even with this inconsistency are still good enough for top 4 finish. So rather get cheap options like Matic to complete the numbers and then spend the money in the summer.
