Tuttosport: Talks between Milan and Man Utd over full-back on pause due to call-up

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan were hoping to try and secure the services of Diogo Dalot but the negotiating period has been lengthened, according to a report.

Dalot showed his versatility during a season with the Rossoneri in which he made a good number of appearances both as a left-back and a right-back, leading to suggestions that Milan could look to try and extend his loan or even buy him permanently.

However, Tuttosport (via MilanNews) writes how there is a delay in talks because of the European Championships. Yesterday, Dalot officially joined the Portugal squad after Joao Cancelo’s tested positive for Covid.

Dalot’s participation in Euro 2020 will probably mean that he will not make a decision on his future or be able to sign until after the tournament. The full-back will in fact remain committed and focused on playing for his national team and therefore it will most likely mean the situation is not clarified for a few weeks.
