Tuttosport: The break comes at the right time – Pioli wants his two best forwards back at 100%

AC Milan boss Stefano Pioli is hoping that the international break will give the perfect opportunity for two of his star forwards to return to full fitness.

As Tuesday’s edition of Tuttosport reports (via MilanNews), Milan have suffered a bit of fatigue in recent games – perhaps more mental than physical – and the break comes at the right time after some difficult games in Serie A and the Europa League.

The paper notes how the break will help to bring the two most important players in the Rossoneri attack back to 100%, namely Ibrahimovic and Rebic.

The former will try to recover from the psychological effort of always having to be the leader, while Rebic on the other hand just needs to find a good condition after the long stop due to injury.

He played against Udinese, Lille and Verona but came off the bench in each, showing encouraging signs, but obviously he can’t be at his best. Milan have found alternatives like Leao and Brahim Diaz, but the Croatian remains vital given his relationship down the left side with Theo Hernandez too.
