Tuttosport: The two reasons Milan have abandoned pursuit of PSG outcast

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan have abandoned the idea of signing Abdou Diallo from Paris Saint-Germain this summer due to two reasons, a report claims.

According to a report from Tuttosport (via PianetaMilan), the Milan management were keen on the idea of signing Diallo from PSG to reinforce the defence during the January window and they rekindled that interest this summer, but just like the winter things are gradually cooling down.

There are two reasons for the slowdown in talks: first of all Diallo is not convinced by the role that was proposed to him given that he would essentially start as the third or fourth choice centre-back behind Fikayo Tomori, Pierre Kalulu and possibly Simon Kjaer.

Secondly, Milan and PSG have not been able to agree on the formula. The Rossoneri would like a loan with the option to buy, while the French club want to insert an obligation. For this reason Matteo Gabbia should remain at Milan at least until January.
