Tuttosport: Theo recovers and will play – Pioli returns to a back four

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan head coach Stefano Pioli will revert to using a four-man defence against Cagliari tonight, a report claims, and Theo Hernandez’s return is a big reason for that.

Theo was not available for Saturday’s 1-0 win against Hellas Verona at San Siro due to muscle fatigue and neither was Davide Calabria, which saw Pioli opt to field a 3-4-3 system with Yunus Musah and Alessandro Florenzi as wing-backs.

According to this morning’s edition of Tuttosport (via MilanNews), Theo has fully recovered and will be back in the starting line-up this evening against Cagliari at the Unipol Domus.

With his return, Pioli will abandon the three-man defence seen against Verona and there will be a return to 4-3-3, with the Frenchman taking back his spot on the left side of defence.

Calabria is not expected to feature however, with every major source tipping Florenzi to get the nod at right-back once again.
