Tuttosport: ‘Change gear or forget about Milan’ – Tomori and Abraham ‘risk ruining everything’

Fikayo Tomori and Tammy Abraham have come under fire since the defeat against Fiorentina, and a report has warned that their future may not be at AC Milan unless there is an improvement.

This morning’s edition of Tuttosport (via MilanNews) writes how Tomori and Abraham have ended up in the crosshairs of criticism for their performances and their attitude on the pitch, with two incidents in particular standing out.

The first came early in the second half when Milan were awarded their second penalty of the game. The central defender jumped higher than everyone else to pick up the ball and pass it to his close friend, disobeying the hierarchies which dictated Christian Pulisic should have taken it. Abraham did instead, and missed.

It was a gesture that was the tip of the iceberg of two very poor performances, given that Abraham missed a big chance to equalise after Noah Okafor’s cut-back and then Tomori massively misjudged a header which allowed Albert Gudmundsson to score the winner.

The paper adds: ‘Tomori and Abraham either change gear or forget about Milan’. The subtitle reads: ‘The defender collects errors: he risks his job. The attacker does not score: at this rate there is no permanent move’.

Another note in the margin adds: ‘Having fulfilled the dream of playing together, they risk ruining everything’. Strahinja Pavlovic is fighting to take Tomori’s spot alongside Matteo Gabbia, while Tammy needs goals or he will end up back at Roma in June.
