Tuttosport: Torino remain keen on Milan outcast but want certain reassurances

Mattia Caldara, who came off the bench against Nice last night, is expected to leave Milan once again. The loan spell at Atalanta was far from a success and the Rossoneri can’t afford to gamble on the centre-back.

According to Tuttosport (via MilanLive), Torino are interested in the former Atalanta man and just need to sell Lyanco. Ivan Juric believes that Caldara could be the perfect fit for his three-man backline and a move is possible.

In fact, Milan are even willing to send the defender out on loan once again, but there are still some obstacles to overcome. Above all, Torino want some reassurances on the player’s physical condition, considering his history with injuries.

There is optimism that this matter can be worked out and that an agreement can be reached in the end. Milan already have a good amount of centre-backs and keeping Caldara for this upcoming season wouldn’t make much sense.

  1. Keep him for depth. 5 CBs is perfect. 3 are starter quality and Gabbia and Caldara will be good depth. I know what Milan will do though, we’ll sell him for 1m just to get his 2m salary off the books… joke of a team.
